The
following procedure disables the System Restore feature:
Windows Millennium (disable)
Right-click the My Computer icon on the Desktop and click
Properties.
Click the Performance tab.
Click the File System button.
Click the Troubleshooting tab.
Select Disable System Restore.
Click Apply > Close > Close.
When prompted to restart, click Yes.
Windows XP (disable)
Log
on as Administrator.
Right-click the My Computer icon on the desktop and click
Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Select Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply > Yes > OK.
Windows Millennium (enable)
To
enable Windows Me System Restore:
1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
2. Double-click System, and then click the Performance tab.
3. Click File System, and then click the Troubleshooting tab.
4. Uncheck Disable System Restore.
5. Click OK, and then click Close. Click Yes, when you are prompted
to restart Windows.
Windows XP (enable)
Click Start.
Right-click My Computer and then click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Uncheck "Turn off system restore" or "Turn off system restore on all
drives."
Click Apply and then click OK.
